Next Level Programming:
NLCDC is deeply committed to fostering academic excellence in every student who participates in our program. Our goal is to ensure that students aged 5-18 are well-prepared to excel in core subjects such as Math, English/Language Arts, Reading, and Science. With the support of certified educators and dedicated staff, we design engaging, thought-provoking activities that reinforce classroom learning and inspire critical thinking.
While academics remain at the heart of our mission, we believe that strong leaders are well-rounded individuals. Our program goes beyond academics to offer students a wide range of enriching activities, including golf, tennis, boxing, yoga, and educational tours across Macon and the United States. These experiences broaden their horizons, encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones and discover new possibilities.
At NLCDC, we strive to open students’ eyes to a world of opportunities, empowering them to dream bigger and aim higher every day.

History
At the dawn of the new millennium, Pastor Teddy Parker, the late pastor of Bibb Mount Zion Baptist Church, turned a visionary dream into reality. What began as an outreach ministry of the church evolved into the nonprofit organization now known as Next Level Community Development Center (NLCDC). In May 2000, NLCDC launched Camp Zion, a three-week summer camp that welcomed eager boys and girls from the community.
In 2007, the organization expanded its impact with the addition of an after-school program. Since its humble beginnings serving just 35 students, NLCDC has grown exponentially, now reaching 225 students in the summer and 90 students during the school year.
This remarkable growth is a testament to the dedication and collaborative efforts of the students, staff, families, and sponsors who make NLCDC’s mission a reality every day.
